I recently moved (10 minutes down the street) and brought my blood parrot cichlid with me. He made a nine hour move with me earlier this summer with no problems so I wasn't too concerned. He has been in his new tank for three days now, but he is still ghostly pale. He's eating, he's swimming fine, I can't see any signs of disease, but he's not his usual vibrant orange. Is there any reason he would still be more or less white?

could either be unhappy, fish change colour due to feelings, maybe tank mates?
filteration may have gone into a mini cycle if not cycled that might be a problem.....
my moneys on stress from exsplanation however do you have water readings?

Pretty much what everyone else said. When I was at the aquatics store looking at fish, someone was buying a Chiclid and it went from a bright blue to almost a pale white as it tried to get away from the net. The guy said there are a few reasons they do this... defense mechanism, stress, and when they're unhappy.
