Hey guys. Got some colloidal silver today and need help with dosages. It is 1100 ppm. I am looking for dosage on a 10 gallon aquarium and a 2 gallon. Both with filters. I need amounts and how often to add it to the water. More specifically looking for appropriate dose to help in torn fin mending. Thanks in advance for the help. :)

1100ppm means you want to use one drop a gallon, according to Kelly's recent article on the subject. So for your ten gallon, ten drops. Easy, no? that's why the 1100ppm is a great concentration, IMO! :D

Wow! That is easy! Thanks.
Does the silver eventually leave the water itself or does it hang around only to be diluted by water changes? I am just wondering how often to dose a filtered tank. Going off to do the first doses now... :D

It will hang around and your water changes will dilute it. I've read that it has a two week activity period in the body, but I'm not sure about aquaria. I would treat until you see the probem cleared up...with 1100 ppm that should be really quickly!

Awesome! Glad I waited long enough to get the good stuff! I saw a bunch of the lower content stuff around.

Good question. It sticks around, actually. So if you know how much water you take out, you can just dose an equal amount on the way back in. For example, if you take out two gallons of old water, you would put in 2 new gallons + 2 drops of 1100ppm silver. Make sense?

Edited, oops, wuv beat me to it. :D The lady knows of what she doth speak!

Sorry to hop ever so slightly off topic, but where did you luck out and find it in that high of a ppm?? And could I ask what the bottle cost you?

Sure, no problem. I got it off a link wuv or BM posted a bit ago. It is about $30-35 after shipping costs. A bit pricey, but if you only need a drop per gallon, it definitely feels worth it to me!
