I was wondering if it is all possible to have a 10 u.s. gallon cold water marine. I am really new to this saltwater thing. I was thinking of somekind of crab or something. I do know that there is alot less salt in colder ocean water.

I live on the atlantic coast, i actually use the natural sea water for my reef tank. The SG for this water is 1.026 (35ppm) so its not any lower on average with any other part of the ocean.

The sea temperature here runs in the summer at 18 degrees (64 degrees F) and in the winter its now running at 14 degree (57 degrees F)

ooh! you can have blue banded gobies if you are setting up a colwater marine :D
they are better off in cool water to tropical temps :D

you'll need a cooler... quite expensive.

we thought about starting a cold water UK marine tank and collecting our own stock... but tropical marine sounds a lot more practical due to temps.
