My wife has 30 gallon cold water tank with variouse oranda's, some have very long tails and others not so long.

What I was wondering is do their tails grow any faster than their bodies or will their tails and bodies grow propotionally (spelled wrong I know) :*)

cheers

I think its all down to genetics. Depending how the parents tails grew then thats how your fish will grow. Any chance of pics to see what types of fish they are?

I will try and put some on later (im at work just now) but Ive not got a photo editor on my new PC yet so they always turn out just too big to post.

I think that, lke most fish, it varies. But, I don't mean to take the soap box, but a 30 gallon is really only big enough for a couple of goldfish. Goldfish produce a LOT of waste and the fancy ones grow to be the size of an adult's fist.

yeah, if you're keeping more than 2 or 3 orandas in a 30g, you'll have more to worry about than just their tail length.

as to your question, some goldfish have incredibly small tails, while some have very long ones. luck of the draw I guess.
