I have always wanted to put moon lights (specifically cold cathodes) on my 125, but my only worry is that my double strip of T5s are going to boil them alive. Is that something I need to really worry about? Or are the moon lights resistant to heat? The two I have are both 36".

This is what I have on my tank:

Thanks!

i have cold cathode moonlights on all my tanks and on two of them the cathodes are located in the main light fixture which is enclosed with plexiglass, the cathodes are no more than 10mm directly below from the main lighting tubes (3x 36" in length) and ive not had any probs with them or the heat, my main lights are on for about 10hrs a day and cold cathodes never turned off, hope this helps a little

Yeah, that helps, thanks! I wasn't sure how these things held up to heat and hearing your personal experience makes me feel much better about getting these. :)

Hi Invader,

Agree with Scotty001 :)

I have my cold cathode tubes actually attached to my T5 tubes (The cathose tubes have end blocks so the cathode tube is only about 1cm away from the T5 tube) - The heat doesnt have any affect on mine, been working well for a year now

Cheers,

Craig
