Hi all,

I got my cold cathode lighting all set up and it was working fine :D

It was on about 5~10mins and now its dead :-(

The box which connects the lights and the power has buggered up i think... anyone know where i could get a replacement?

Ill be taking it into college on monday and see if my Tutor could fix it (haha doing mechatronic engineering, 30% electronic, 30% electrical, 30% mechanical and 10% in bed)

Thanks

Kev

I'm guessing the tansformer has overloaded and blow.
I'll also guess that it is rated at 300 or 500ma this is way to
low to run cathodes.
I run 2x 12" and 2x 4" cold cathodes of a 1500ma transformer,
this is what you need.

If your at ollege waht are you doing posting at 2.45 in the morning???huh??huh???

On another note if you try it now it might work, those little transfromers go into overheat & switch off sometimes. But as recommended the ones supplied in those kits ain't man enough for the job!!

Do you have an old scalextric lying around?? These are a good source of 12v transformers!!
