Since my sister bought me a scooter blenny for no reason. I've decided to keep him and call him my own. Anywho, since I found out that the blenny eats meaty products i've come to the conclusion that he only eats coepods. So im going to buy a coepod starter thing and set up a tiny nano for it with some rubble L.R. Now my question is...

1)Does size of the tank/container matter?
2)Is filtration necessary? (water changes)
3)Is lighting necessary?
4)What do coepods eat?
5)After I've set it up how long do I have to wait until I transfer the coepods for feeding?
6) How do I transfer the coepods? (Do I take the rubble rocks and put it in my main tank?)

maybe if you put some sponge in the actual tank so that the pods will go in there for safety and then you shake the sponge in the tank to get em out. dose of pods easy

ha I cleaned my HOB filter the other day.. i put carbon and po4 remover in it... and it was full of coepods.. i didnt count... but off hand i'd say about 30-40 that i could see let alone the ones i couldnt... i bet lots end up in my tank after awhile..

I use 2 modified canister filters withsamshed up LR in them, m,akes an excellent breeding ground for lil inverts, my tank always has critters around and on the plus side its extra movement and filtration.

You dont need to set up a seperate tank to do this. If you can buy them locally some shops sell breeding nets which stick onto the side of the glass and have holes in to allow water to pass through. I use one of these in my tank as a small algae refugium and because the fish or any predators cannot get in there i get many tiny copepods and other small critters growing in there. This i am sure helps keep the copepod level in my tank at pretty large proportions which is why i didnt think twice before adding a scooter blenny to my tank...

Can you give me info about the little net? Brand and where you picked up from.

Thanx

Thanks for the help you guys! I'm either gonna go with the breeders net since I have one and put some rubble in there? Or do you just put in chaeto? or both?

And for Eversurf the brand I got is: Lee, its called "Lees Breeder Net"

and it looks like this
