So I've got my coconut, halved it,scooped out the flesh and cut a little opening for little fishies to enter and exit. My next move is to sand the edges down. What then? Do I need to boil it and sand the outside? I read about this here at some point but can't remember where. Thanks guys!

You don't need to boil it; that'll just cook it and make it rot quicker; a scub with hot water is all you need to do. Sanding the outside fibres off is up to you; there's no need to.

Great stuff, I'm almost good to go so. :) Minnnt, I'm planning on mossing it, that was my next question. How to??

I boiled about 6 halves in a big pan, really hard to break the fibres in coconuts, i didnt bother to sand them though.

I Drilled some holes and used cotton, I think there was a quide in the DIY section on here that I saw it.

I'll have a look around the DIY section then. Thanks guys! :good:

Glue? Would that be superglue BigbruiserAl? Someone posted something about this a while ago. Does it need to be a certain type of glue and would glue not kill the moss?

yep just super glue from the pound shop, just look on the glue should say Cyanoacrylate.

used it in my 350L,220L and 60L no dead moss at and no fish deaths.

Dry the coconut, add glue then moss leave it for 30min and in it goes :good:

Upon perusing the DIY section I've noticed people have two arches in a coconut half. I thought just one would suffice as an entrance/exit so it would be a proper cave. Should I carve another on the opposite side?

No need to it's up to you, depends what fish you have. If you have shy fish that breed in caves then one would be best but otherwise your probably best making it into more of an arch as more of the fish will go through it then. That's what I found anyway...
