Cockateil And Parraket?

Does any one know if you if you can put another parraket in with a cockatiel? I have fallen in love with one at the local bird store, but i am worried they will kill each other.

They should be OK together. One of the bird stores here has a display cage with cockatiels and parakeets living together, and I have a big cage with one of each. They love each other. As long as the cage is big enough, you shouldn't have any problems.

It depends on what sort of parakeet is going to be added. Cockatiels (weeros) are very peaceful but some species of parakeet can be quite aggressive and will kick hell out of the weero. It also depends on if both birds are hand tame or if they are from an aviary. Hand tame/ raised birds are usually much more willing to associate with other birds of different kinds. Whereas aviary birds and birds that are not hand tame/raised will be more inclined to fighting.
