I've been wondering since I don't have a lot of lighting if a CO2 producer would help in better growth. Please just say if it will help or not, please don't say get more lighting which I am probally going to end up doing anyway.. I just don't want to spend hundreds of dollars for lighting if CO2 and the lighting I have will work. It's just hard to light a hex tank. heh. Thanks. :)

all the CO2 in the world would be a waste if your tank isn't properly lighted... And yes, hex tanks are always hard to light.

You got any suggestions, the max length is 18in of the lighting. Maybe a little bigger depending upon the light fixture. Somewhere around $100 and a little more I would be willing to spend not including bulbs.

Light before CO2. CO2 comes into it's own when your light is high enough for your plants to start growing quickly. Once that happens, CO2 becomes the next limiting factor.

Well I've solved the lighting problem so once I get my plants and fish I'll see how everything does before I even think about CO2.
