Hi all

I've a new JUWEL Vision 180 tank and I need some advice on which Co2 injection system to use. I've used the Nutrafin yeast-based systems before for my smllaer 65l tank and I know I can add multiple units of this to the larger tank. But, I'm also aware that CO2 is emitted by plants at night and so I'd like a system that can be controlled so that it doesn't pump out even more CO2 at night. Any recommendations? Are these safe and easy to use? I don't want to pay 400UKP for one, either!

Hi,

The Co2 system's are two type's :

1.once you already know. the Yeast generator..

2.The Co2 cylinder's system....>

*It's came with regulator,diffuser,magnetic valve~timer,and the hose.

So, i recommend the CO2 cylinder for you, it's very easy and convenient..

I use this type after yeast generator, i found it the best choice.. you shouldn't change the recipe every two

week's..

You can bought one from the net, or in your local store..

If you going to order one from the net, i suggest to take some to explore in your LFS about

the advantages and how the system work's. then decide what you need..

The Co2 Cylinder can shut off in the night by magnetic valve and timer...

Best Regards

If your looking to buy 2nd hand - I'm looking to sell my equipment.

It uses disposable cylinders (390g or 600g).

The kit comes with regulator, solinoid (used with a timer to turn off at night)
an Aquamedic 500 diffuser for attachment to the filter output.

Reglator was £50 (3 months old)
Diffuser was £40
Solinoid was £35

The co2 canister is nearly new too.

I've got an Aquaclear 301 powerhead that could be included if you want.

I'll also throw in my remaining liquid fertiliser and dry chemical for the EI method, and some plants as they will start dying soon without the system running :(

What about the electrolysis versions? These seem to be more compact, no cylinders, no refilling of them, no loss of CO2 as the pressure degrades within the cylinders, etc.

no loss as the CO2 rus out as the regulator deals with that... the electro ones have a bad rep for killing fish due to over dosing - as the carbon plate wears the cot output varies I believe.
I dont think you'll find anyone on here using one...

Well, Sounds Great..

No need to Cylinder's, and i'm wasting my time, when i want to refill it,

If this system working well, and include a regulater or something to know how much you dose??

I'll get one for me,

And the price is not bad......

Actually I do use a CarboPlus on my 75gal tank. I've had no problems with it and regulating it is quite easy. The dial on the side allows you to control the ammount of CO2 being added. I love using the Carbo Plus and I wouldn't trade it for anything else. I have it plugged into the same power strip as my lighting and that powerstrip is plugged into a timer so when my lights go off, so does the CO2. I've had my system for just over 6 months now and I've changed the block once just a week or so ago.
The initial cost is rather high for the Carbo Plus but I figured that by the time I purchased the necessary Hagen systems to supply my tank I would have spent just a little less than what my Carbo Plus cost me. In the long run it may end up being a little more expensive by I really don't think so.
