Am about to set up a planted tank and wish to use pressurised CO2. project log is here: My kitchen tank log

Have DIY CO2 in my other tank but I would like to get some regular CO2 going in this new one. Will have 2 WPG and maybe higher when I get going so would like stable gas to boost the green stuff.

Thing is, as soon as you put the phrase CO2 in relation to planted, the spend goes through the roof. I'm not adverse to spending some dosh but would like advice on bits so I don't waste money.

Can anyone recommend a set or bits, particularly the reg, I can source, so that I have the option of disposable or refillable bottles in relation to the regulator? (the reg seems dearest)

As an example: Does the JBL set "Easy 1" reg (which is on a disposable bottle) allow it to be used on a bigger refillable bottle later if required?

All help and advise welcomed ta...

go to aqua essentials and look at the D+D set, then you will need a bubble counter a check valve and a diffuser

Thanks for that, questions:
Can I use bigger bottles on that kit - don't want to buy stuff and find threads don't match if I want to go longer later between bottle changes?

Have you used it / is it any good?

Edit: looks cool that it also has soleniod....

Ther's an adapter for the JBL reg that allows it to be fitted to bigger cylinders. The cheaper option would be to buy the bits individually off ebay and use an extinguisher or scour ebay for a bargain (I got a JBL profi 2 setup for £55!)

Any idea what that adapter part is? If you have info, I'm going for the JBL Easy 1 set, the adapter if needed later and a definately a different diffusor, cheers

Thanks a lot gav935 - sheesh, £11.99 for what is basically a nut! They're having a giraffe.

Anyway I got fed up with trying to source bits which basically made the whole thing dearer in any case. I went for the JBL easy 1 from Swelluk which was on at £94.99 inc VAT free shipping. I mention the price because since placing the order yesterday they have hiked the price up to £109.99 - makes me wonder if they had it priced wrong as it was the cheapest I could see it from anywhere :hyper: hehehe
