Hi all, im going to purchase a co2 kit soon and im looking some info. Im after a low maintaince set up, i currently have tetra tec substrate covered with river bed sand and a t8 bulb in place. The current plant stock is just a few java ferns and amazon swords. Eventually i'll be adding a few more bushy plants and something to takeover the sand.

I want to keep the cost and set up size down so was thinking about an aersol setup (for 60l tank) would anyone have any recommendations. I seen a tetratec one but whats with all the different reactors / defusers? what is needed?

thanks neil.

woo thats a bit above my level, im just after a simple plug n play setup too many components involved in that set up, but thanks for the info.
has anyone any recomendations on an aerosol set up???

thanks neil.

Hi, not quite sure I know what you mean by aerosol kits, I've even been in the tetratec website and can't find anything by them to do with CO2 :S

But if I'm right your thinking about the kits which basically have little disposable bottles. These are sort of glossed over as they offer ridiculously bad value for money. Maybe if you link to the sort of thing you are looking at to give us a better idea.

To be honest though, as complicated as the fire extinguisher set-up looks, all pressurised kits will contain the majority of the components in some form or another as they are vital when dealing with pressurised gas.

Have you looked at the fermentation method? This is slightly higher maintenance then pressurised but it is cheap and less complicated to set up.

To be honest with the fire extinguisher, all you do it bolt on the regulator, link it to a diffuser, get the level right and thats it. No messing for 6 months to a year when you refill...
