Now that i have my ferplast energy classic and a 2ltr bottle diy setup workin... finally!! I noticed that the bubbles per minute are very rapid, im counting around 50-60per minute. Im sure that the correct amount is 30 per minute, but is this only for pressurised canisters or does it apply for diy aswell and its a yeast sugar setup

You do know ppm stands for parts per million?
Assuming you know this and have a viable test 30ppm is the golden number to aim for, in a high light tank anyway.

I run a DIY at 60 bubbles per minute, although I have to use 2 x 2L bottles to keep this stable.

In my 100L tank this gives me a green drop checker (30ppm).

Ideally you should be looking for a bubble per second and a good diffusion method to put all that CO2 to good use in the tank.

Good luck.

a so i didnt write that ppm bit wrong, yes i am getting around 50-60 bubbles a minute, im still waiting for my drop checker to arrive, i was just worried that that level of bubbles would be bad for the fish over night

Run an airstone at 'lights out' to drive off excess CO2 if you are worried about it.

I tend not to with my DIY and have had no problems with my fish.

You won't overdose your tank on 1 yeast kit guaranteed. 180Ltrs would need 4+ kits running at peak together to get near to overdosing.

I wouldn't bother with an airstone at night. If you see your fish at the water surface then worry but more likely you will be way under and struggling to reach 30ppm.

1 kit will suffice for a 70Ltr tank but will struggle to reach 30ppm with plants and a top diffusor. I used to use 3 on a 125Ltr with a Rhinox 2000 diffusor and struggled to keep the DC green.
