is it possible? right now i have a betta and a couple ghost shrimp in there with some live plants. i'd imagine the plants will die off eventually though if i dont add a light and/or some co2. if anyone has an idea for a light that would help too. thanks.

Depends what plants your talking about.

They all need light though, CO2 is an optional that you may need with some species.

But CO2 in a 2.5 gal is easy and no different from other tanks :). Just look up nano planted tanks :).

All plants require light and CO2. It is about balance.

If you can provide more information and what type of plants, it will be easier for the forumers to help!
