Hi!

A couple of days ago I posted a question asking whether or no it is a good itea to diffuse Co2 into the intake of a canister filter. Basically I was told that I should go for it. So I did. I stuck the air line into the intake strainer on my fluval 204. I can clearly see the co2 going into the intake so I know it's atleast getting there. What's wierd though is that every about 3 minutes I see a little burst of bubbles come out of the output of the filter. No air is getting into the input so I think this has to be co2. Could it maybe be building up ing the filter and then being released all at once? I did see one website that said that co2 diffusion doesn't work with fluvals. Is this true? Any help would be great!

Umm, I would say it not going to work WELL with fluvals. The reason is because the input and output at right beside eachother, so the bubbles can just slide over, oor, collect at the top then off a sudden pass through your impeller which would cause a jam. I'm using eheims so I don't have that problem, maybe you can put a better seal so bubbles don't slide over?

Being a Fluval is not the issue. It happens on Eheims also and any other canister filter. The problem is that your CO2 is producing faster than the impeller is mixing it causing the burst of bubbles.

You should be looking into an in-line CO2 reactor. They are less than $10.00 to build and will do the job great.

Look to one like this:
