Clowns have ich

I just got 2 new clown loaches, and they both have ich. I know they are ich prone, so I was worried about this. What is the best way to treat clowns with ich? Will melafix work? I raised the temp a bit and added some melafix when I introduced them. Will this work? Please help they are so cool I don't wanna lose em. Is ich fatal? If so how soon?

Also what do they eat? Will they go for flakes? If not what else forms the main part of their staple diet?
