Clownfish Help!

Hi Everyone!

I've kept goldfish for years and years in the past and really fancied getting some Clownfish in a Biorb Life aquarium but have read so many conflicting bits on information on the web. I'd love to be able to get a couple but would really appreciate an exerts advice before I go any further on this. Maybe a few shrimps or cleaners and some plants. Thank you for your help and time in advance.

Hi Jo, welcome to the salty side. Before you begin, I really suggest that you do some reading. Marine systems, while rewarding and fun, require some special attention, especially in the planning stages. I recommend this book.

Michael S. Paletta - The New Marine Aquarium

He explains a lot and its very clear. Once you read that, you'll be much better able to process a lot of the information we give you.

I would say have a read of The Conscientious Marine Aquarist by Robert M. Fenner too, its a great book to have. Expensive but worth it.

How big is the Biorb life? My mum used to have the standard Biorb and i personally wouldn't keep any clownfish in that.

What type of clownfish are you thinking of? They do grow quite large.
