what do you feed your clown plecs as they dont eat algae?

ive never seen my 2 eat anything, but i do have 2 nice size bits of bogwood which there always around and also i put cucumber in regularly and there always on that. never had any problems with them

i have 3 pieces of boog wood. however i put some zuccini in the tank for the ottos and no matter where i put it the amano shrimp find it!

which clown plec do you have?

Below is a quote taken from planet catfish, that is assuming its a Panaque Maccus or similar
A wood-eating fish, the tank should be decorated with several different types of driftwood. These fish really like to have something to chew on and squash, cucumber, and other vegetables should be readily available to them (yams are a favourite). Supplement two to three times weekly with frozen foods.

yes its a Panaque Maccus. i do put veggies in once a week but maybe it will be twice now! i feed the fish frozen daphina but i dont think the plecos get any. i will get some algae wafers and try that? what else can i try?

I would be feeding either courgette, deshelled peas, or lettuce at least 3-4 times per week,

do desheeled peas not float? do you need to crsh them or what? i need help? im sure my amanos will get most but il put some near their caves!

I feed peas weekly to my bettas, little plecs and anyone else interested.
For larger fish, can just squash between your fingers and drop them in to sink.
(Smaller fish can get large pea pieces caught in their throats and choke - at least 2 WCM that I know of have, one of mine being a victim.)
And just thought I'd mention, my baby Bristlenose's absolute favorite anything seems to be cooked frozen baby Brussel Sprouts, although we're (sob) out now.
And I'm assuming my elusive dwarf plec's as well, as I don't think anyone else in that tank could make such a mess of them.
And cooked asparagus is always popular, though haven't had recently.
But if you ever have any in, you'd probably have tried them on your fish anyway.
And I'm sure you've tried cucumber, which is a favorite (sometimes) with my otos as well, who normally don't bother with veg.
And be warned, if you haven't tried it yet, saving fully-cooked chunks of yam for your fish is best done when your planning a tank clean right away anyhow.
That, and people look at you funny when you say you're saving bits of your supper for some of your fish.
Totally weird...
Gives me the typos...

haha, yeah my ottos dont really bother with veg, its normally algae with them. my amanos like veg tho. i will try a crushed pea

I feed mine Algae wafers and he loves the sinking pellets I have for my Rams. So he gets a little bit of meaty food and veggie based food. I tried putting a cucumber in tank and he left it along. I have some bogwood in the tank too he likes to suck on that. But he really goes to town on the sinking pellets.
