clown pleco

I just got my first pleco. I heard that the clown plecos stay rather small so I would like to know if it will eat all my live plants and what plants could I keep inmy aquarium that he won't eat.

Any plant, these guys like a meatier diet, and need wood as well. Mine has never touched algae or plants, so he eats algae disks and frozen shrimp for staple foods
