I saw clown plecs at a local shop recently . . . they're so colorful! I read up that they only grow to 5 in, is that true?

cool, think I have enough room in the 20 gal to add it . . .
Be crareful, plecs create a lot of waste and put a lot of extra pressure on your bio-filtration that other fish of a similar size might not. For that reason I would never put a (smaller breed of, obviously) plec in anything less than a 30gallon. I don't even keep plecs that get bigger than 5"

What else is in the tank? Clown Plecs should be kept in groups aswell so I would also fvaour 30 gallons but if your tank is lightly stocked it could work well. :)

I have one clown plec (he did have a friend but he sadly died) and i've been told that they grow to about 4". It's also true about the increased waste, my clown caused an ammonia spike all on his own, bless

good points all around. I've done my own homework on the subject, and I'll figure it out; thanks for imput guys.
