Clown plec

I read that clown plecs really like to eat yams. How exactly do I serve these up? Cut off a hunk and place it in the tank? Or do I need to cook it a little bit first? Plus it floats...how do I keep it at the bottom of the tank?

Sorry for so many questions....I've only served yams at Thanksgiving -- but never to my fish!

boil it for a couple minutes and then put it in adn it should sink
