just been reading some info on the Clown plec, according to the info that i have read, they prefer to be in pairs or more if you have the room. Now when i bought mine the shop failed to tell me this, basicly they said its a nice small plec that will not damage any plants. Will mine be ok? Ive had it for approx 5 months now and it seems fine! I also have a BN plec, Rubber Nose Plec and a new L138 Leopard frog plec. They all have there own hiding place and there even fine when the cucumber goes in!

I was considering getting one of these a while back but I heard they were very shy creatures so went against it, what are your opinions since you own one with about the saem size plecs I will be having??

it is very shy and hides in itd cave most of the time, it will pop out when i feed them though. Its nice to see it from time to time. Now my Rubber Nose is very active, more like a cory!!! It gets everywhere and out all the time.

I have heard they appreiciate having their own kind around although i'm not sure if its essential to their well being in the long term or not, they are wood eating plecs though so having lots of types of driftwood around is important for their diet and health;

is driftwood the same as bog wood? I have a large lump of bog wood with a plant growing over it.

Driftwood is different from bogwood in the terms of how it is preserved but other than that is essentially the same, but don't know if there are any particular types of wood that clown plecs prefer- most of the time i hear people advise driftwood/mopani(sp?) wood for clown plecs, but a variety of different types of wood is also the key :thumbs: .

mate,

I'd say that the 'Leopard Frog Plec' you have is actually an L134 ;)

Yeah I know that, but in his 1st post he referred to his Leopard Frog Plec as an L138 ;)
