hiya,

what do clown laoches eat?

ive been feeding them bloodworms that fall to the bottom of the tank, same with flakes. Also they tend to go round and chew on the plecos algea wafers. I have tried cucumber but they dont eat it.

Anyone have any other suggestions? as i dunno if munching on hard algea wafers is good for them, (lol i can hear them crunching on it)

They are carnivorous so meaty foods and commercial flake/pellets are ok.

It's always been recommended to me to feed them veggies along with the protein. That's why your seeing them eat the Algea Wafers. :) If they don't get veggies, they WILL nibble plants.

I feed mine Regular flake, Spiralina Flake, Algea Wafers, Shrimp pellets, Brine Shrimp, Bloodworms, Peas, Lettuce, Cucumber, Green Beans, and they eat the duckweed I put in there for the Festivum and Congo Tetras, too.

Variety is good for any fish. Just see what veggies they WILL eat, and feed them that.

Did you try the cucumber several times? Chances are they just need to get used to it first, so don't give up if they seem to ignore it at first.

I'm told zucchini is a winner. ;)

ours eat the same things we food the plecs...

Cucumber, wafers, prawns and other veggies.

I recently bought clown loaches. They wouldn't eat the cucumber i gave them, until i left it in over night. When i woke up they had dragged the cucumber into their cave and ate a hole in the center of it.
