Clown Loaches

Hi can anyone tell me do clown loach dig themselves into the gravel in the tank yeaterday i found that one of my two had died so i was keeping an eye on the other one he is only small and i couldn't see him anywhere i evenmoved some rocks and decorations he wasn't there anywhere then about twenty minutes later he appeared. Also should i get another one or will one be ok on his own

Can't say mine have ever dug themselves into the tank. He may have hid in a cave or something similar if you have any caves or the like. Did you notice anything odd about the fish before it died, loss of coloration or any marks. Also what are you water stats, ammonia, nitrate, nitirite, PH.

Clown Loaches do like to be in groups. They are a very social fish, so you would need to get some more. The bigger the group the better. Also what size tank do you have as they need large tanks. Once full sized people will say 100g+ as the can reach up to 1ft.
