hi, about 4 days ago a bought 3 new clown loaches to go in my tank they are tiny compared to my other clown loach, which came with the tank when we bought it second hand, so i have no experience with clown loaches this size. They same to be loving it in our tank and eating well but 2 of them look a bit skinny to me ,i read some where that this is quite common in these fish and that they will need to be treated can anyone shed some light on this for me thanks

Most clown loaches are skinny when they are first imported in the country. If you feed them well they should start to fill out in a couple of weeks. If they don't then they might have intestinal worms that can be treated with different medications, (depending on where you live). In the UK you can use Levamisole Hydrochloride to treat thread/round worms. This can be obtained from a vet and is safe for all fish.

Praziquantel can be used to treat gill flukes and tapeworm in fish. It is often sold as a tapeworm treatment for cats and dogs and can be bought from most petshops. Some aquarium medications also contain Praziquantel and this can be bought from the LFS.
