Ok so 2 days ago, we got ourselves some clown loaches. 3 at first, but eventually 6 in total.
Well we bring them home, and long story short, they have Ich.
Didn't notice it while we were in the store.

Stuck them in to our spare 10gal tank and have been treating with stuff called Quick Cure. The recommended dose is 1 drop per gallon. I've read that clowns are sensitive to meds, so have only been using 4 drops. I've also added an airstone & raised the temp to 84 (heater won't go any higher).
I've also been doing 20% water changes every day b/c I'm just super paranoid that the meds are going to build up too much and make the clowns sicker.

This is the first time I've ever had to deal with Ich so not really sure if I'm doing everything right.
How long does it take to clear it?
The Ich looks like it's gotten worse, but the clowns seem fine other than that. They're pretty active.

for CL, you want to cut the dose to 50% of the directed dosage (5drops for your 10g tank), and continue the process as directed.
remove any carbon from your filters, and WC after 4 days. doing WC daily does not allow the meds time to work.
you can also do a half dose of aquarium salt instead of the meds. this along with the heat boost will take care of it over time.

I guess I got lucky, never used any meds, increasing the temperature worked for me

The aquarium salt won't harm them?

I used 4 drops instead of 5 b/c was taking in to account the gravel that's in the tank.. I'll just do 5 though.

Everything your doing sounds correct, although I'd also keep the lights off in the tank to reduce stress on the clowns, which can sometimes make things worse

Never heard of that treatment but if it is any good then you should start noticing a big difference after about 7 days although you should continue treating for a good week after the spots have dissapeared, just to make sure they are back to 100% health.

So, hopefully after a week, I should see a difference, BUT to be on the safe side, I should continue treatment for another week... that includes treating w/ the quick cure still correct?

Sorry if what I'm saying seems like a duh, obvious kind of question lol... Just want to be crystal clear on the things I should do :)

Thanks everyone for the help so far!

yes, most meds do say in the instructions to continue treating upto 7 days after the spots have gone :good:

Oh geeze, just had first scare today.
I went to take out the big fake log thing in the tank so I could look at the CL better and replace it w/ something smaller.
So I take it out, look in it to make sure nothing is in it, and take it to the bathroom.
Well as I'm plopping it in to the tub to dry off, I see one of the CL's stuck to the inside of it!
I rush it back to the tank, and get it out.. WHEW.
So to make sure that they were ALL out.... I got a flashlight and looked inside of the fake log better, and to my surprise, there was another one stuck inside! Apparently, there's this small little hole in this decor that I never knew was there and it was I guess just happily calling it home!
I did get it out, but I swear to god, nearly gave me a freaking heart attack finding the 2 inside like that!

I mean I would've of course saw that there were only 4 in the tank and looked back in the log asap, but just.... geeze....
