My clown loaches had ich for about 3 weeks because my heater broke and they all contracted it. They had it really bad. I was able to save 4 out of 5 of them. And they've been clear of any ich for 4 weeks. i've stopped treatment, and only do water changes once a week as usual. There haven't been any new spots. If they still had ich i'd think that it would have gone crazy by now. Could it be that the ich damaged their skin and it will itch for awhile? If not then what could it be?

How long have they been flicking, sometimes a water change can cause them to flick, have you changed your decliorinator brand, and have you added anything different to the tank.

Symptoms
Fish rub against solid objects and "flash" when they turn to rub their sides giving a flash of silver colour as their undercarriage is exposed. They may also leap out the water.

This indicates some form of irritation of either the skin or gills.

Possible causes
1) This could be caused by raised levels of ammonia, nitrite or high/low pH. Widely fluctuating diurnal shifts in pH can also cause irritation. Check all water parameters.

2) Irritation can also be caused by ectoparasites such as flukes, Trichodina, white-spot etc on the skin or gills. Examine the gills. Treat with anti-parasite medication

HTH

I just remembered that i never put carbon back into my fiilter after treating for ich. Could the lack of carbon in the filter be causing the flashing?

Yes put the carbon back it could be irratation of the skin due to the medicine do another water change to see how they go.
