Does anyone know about Clown Loaches?? Have come home tonight and found a clown loach swimming
around the tank with another fish in its mouth, like a dog with bone. The shop where I bought them from
said that they normally eat ill ones. Maybe we're just not feeding them enough??? Help please.

wow i ve kept clown loach for a long timeand have never seen that before.

its not incocievable tho, after all they will eat snails, perhaps they wanted meat

incidentilly wat do you feed them and wat fish was it that the clown loach had?

to date they have done away with 3 neon tetras and 2 harliquin Tetras and also had a go a a sick platy :grr:

we feed the fish on a mix of flake food, bloodworm and also high protein granules recomended by the shop we got them from

How many clown loaches do you have, and what is the size of the tank in gallons or litres.

the loaches are only very small (about 3cm) there is 3 of them

the tank is a 70l tank, (just looking at upgrading to 180l tank)

fish in tank

3 Clown Loaches
1 Platy
6 Neon Tetra
3 Glow Lights

and 1 platy fry 2mm long :D - mother died after birth :-(

Thats why they are eating other fish stressed to death in that tank, they need very large tanks.

looks like we have been given good advice again ????

we knew we would need a bigger tank but we were told they would be fine in this tank for a few months as they are only small.

looking at a Juwel Vision 180 would that tank be ok for them?

if not anyone want a loach :hyper:

Would be fine for a while but eventually you will need a 90gal tank.

ok may have to look at getting rid of them, did not want to go over 180l tank, such a shame they are nice looking fish

At this moment in time that the best decision as they will eventually come ill with the stress.
Don't relie on lfs for information research the fish your self, good luck.

just had an idea, shut all doors and windows and turn the front room into a fish tank, may screw up the TV but the fish are much more entertaining than TV is.
