Ok so I have 6 clown loaches and im trying to figure out what the best thing is to feed them and the best way to go about doing it because I dont think they are getting enough food.

I usually drop some algae cubes in but my problem is that my big tinfoil barb always comes and snatches them from the loaches before they really have a chance to do anything. Ive also tried using flakes pushing them under the water so they sink real fast but thats not really effective.

What can i do to make sure they are getting enough food and also to make sure the barb doesnt steal it from them?

thanks

few options - Ours love blood worm - get a bit of small tube that will reach the bottom of the tank and you can direct where the food goes - ensuring the clowns will get food :)

This can be used for any small foods - eg bits of algea wafer, tubeiflex worms etc.

make sure you scatter the food about the whole tank to stop fish fighting over one point of food.

Well they will eat a lot of things, like Shrimp Pellets, Cucumber, Brine Shrimp, Krill.

There isn't really a way to stop the other fish, the clown loaches will just have to buck up

These idea's are all worth a try and hopefully they'll work. Tinfoils are really aggressive feeders and grow faster (am i wrong in guessing the barbs are bigger?), and if you really feel the loaches aren't getting enough it might be best to choose between them. It takes a very long time to starve a fish even if they only eat a bit, so you have plenty of time to experiment with tactics to get it right.

Loaches also tend to look around the tank for food that was missed so it might not look like they are eating, but they might be eating when you aren't looking.

Tinfoilbarbs don't leave much to be found, they're real pigs.
