Having recently moved 2 of my clown loach on, I seem to have had one go missing in the tank. I can only put this down to it being sulky about 2 of its buddies disappearing. I haven't seen it since the day after (about 3 days now) and have turned everything in the tank over to no avail.

Didn't think that clown loach were like that.....

Don't know what to do........getting worried about the little chap

Clown loach do form some very close bonds within their groups (hence why whenever I buy clown loach from people closing down their tanks, I tend to buy the entire group) and I have seen clown loach 'mourn', for want of a better word to describe it, when one of their mates dies or 'goes missing'. They can become very withdrawn when they're unhappy - I see it a lot with smaller groups of clown loaches, they just don't behave normally and seem almost 'depressed' sometimes.

Your clown loach may have lodged himself in an ornament or small hole in bogwood - just don't take any tank furniture out until you re-find him!

I've taken out tank furniture before and always puts it into a bucket, the one time I didn't and I nearly trod on one of my baby clown loach!!! I have no idea where he was hiding as I checked the bogwood really carefully before removing it from over the tank.

Hope the little fella is okay - perhaps put some yummy food in after lights out and he might come out for it.

Totally agree Clown's are very social.

Have you tried to spot him with lights out?

Regards onebto.
