ive had ich in my 100g tank for 2 weeks now and the treatment doesnt seem to be working if anything it has got worse :( its only the clowns who seem to have it and this morning all 3 are on the bottom gasping.
water stats are perfect with nitrate at 30.ive been treating with half doses as when i use full dose most of the fish gasp at surface.what am i supposed to do?

what are you treating with?

the best ich med i have found is FMG by NTlabs
the dose is 1ml per 30ltr and treat for 5 days consecutivly.
also raise the temp to 82f as the ich parasite can not survive in temps over 80.

im using interpet white spot plus well i was i ran out on friday.im gonna try a different treatment as soon as i can get to lfs :/ if they last that long :(

i lost one during the night and the other 2 are in bad shape:( first fish ive lost in 6 months very sad.i have a airstone in there :/ temp is at 80.i have had ich 3 times now and its only the clowns who ever get it.the first 2 times i suppose i was lucky not losing a fish this time i think im gonna lose all 3 :-(

i have been to lfs and i got the only other ich treatment they had its made by waterlife anyone used it??it says half dose for loaches.i hope i have more luck with this one :/

what u have to remember when raising the temp and using medication is to make sure u have lots of airation..the higher the temp the less oxygen in the water.. The medication will also have an effect on the amount of oxygen and good bacteria in the tank, thus raising ammonia levels.
When medication is complete ,replace filter media with carbon to remove the remaining medication.Follow these steps and you should be fine.

Good luck with it and hope it works out for ya...

ive treated twice with new meds and it seems to be working :) much less gasping and rubbing and hardly any white spots

Where did you get that from? I'm not saying you're wrong, just that I've never heard that. Could you provide a source please? You're effectively saying that at 82F you don't need any medication. The reason for raising the temp as far as I am aware is to speed up the breeding cycle.

i know how u feel i had a 2ft tank with 2xclown loaches,2xbristlenose catfish,2xblue dolphins,1xalbino shark,1xred finned shark,1xrainbow shark,2xsucking cats they all died from whitespot.

Everything I have heard is at 82, the life cycle is sped up, and they begin dieing at 86 (although one person recenty treated their tank at 84 with no meds). Here is a link that supports the 86 http://www.aquahobby.com/articles/e_ich2.php

Just for clarity's sake, the link does actually say it stops infecting at 85, stops breeding at 86, and dies at 89.5. Thanks for posting it, very interesting.

just as i thought they were getting better they died :( i think they had the ich inside their gills coz the spots cleared up on the outside.i dont think i will bother with clown loaches anymore  on top of that i think it may be in my 50g tank too ffs

clown loaches are prone to whitespot, when i got mine they developed it, i used INTERPET ANIWHITESPOT, and in 1 1/2 weeks it went. Sorry for you loss, but i wouldnt say i wont bother with them, but you should just keep an eye out for clown loaches, i was told that by my lfs shop keeper. You said you ran out? you should only use about two pipetts full which is included in the box or a cap full even with a huge tank.
