Hi

Well yesterday I had three Clown Loach i nmy Juwel Rio 125ltr tank. Today put in some stones to stop the platns from moving around and to my horror noticed that 2 of the fish had disppeared. Moved some more stones and the last one has also disppeared. Now I guess they're quite ashy fish but can not seem them at all. I do have 2 Cichlids in the tank so is it poss that they've been eaten by them ?

Any thoughts

Clown loaches have a tendancy to squeeze themselves into tight spaces, are you absolutely sure they havn't just hid amoungst the stones or other ornements in the tank? I would carefully remove all the ornements in the tank and check behind the filter and heater to make sure they aern't hiding some where  .

Well what a surprise. Later on whilst performing a water test I found one of them coming out of a hole in the wooden ornament. To my surprise they all came out at the same time. amazing !

Thanks for the response !

lol! Im thinking of buying clown loaches as i have a snail problem! Do clown loaches go with platies, mollies, tetras or guppies?

Certainly not tetras, and should not be with the others either due to the size diff. Clown loaches can grow to a foot long as well so need a huge tank: 80+ gallons, and they need to be kept in a shoal. Try a smaller kind of loach.
