Hi this is my first post,

i have a 5ft juwel tank with a variety of fishes totalling around 60.

Fishes include guppies, cardinals, gouramis, corys, bala, shrimps, etc.

What i really want now is around 4-5 clown loaches within the tank. I want to know whether or not the clowns will be happy within the tank, and not fight and kill the other fishes.
the tank is heavily planted and has enough places where the clowns could hide.

so the main question is, are clowns peaceful fishes and will i be able to add them to my tank, please say YES?

thank you so much

I would say your tank is minimum size to grow on a group of clowns but you need to address the stocking you already have.
Balas will get too big for the tank & the shrimp would be snacks for clowns.

Botia histrionica or B kubotai fit much better in my Rio 400 than clowns would. They use the whole tank.

HI, thanks for the reply

i've only got one bala, and it seems very happy, but as soon as it outgrows the tank i will trade it in with a smaller one.

so it looks like i'l have to get rid of the shrimps, because i really want the clowns. and as soon as they get to large and fell cramped will trade them in for smaller ones.

Thanks once again
