Have I done something badly wrong? I've added a clown loach to my hex with my male Betta and the Betta is hounding the loach and attacking him sporadically. I'm going to give it an hour to see if they get on and if not I will remove the loach. Am I doing the right thing??

Try and keep and eye out in that hour see what they do and if they start to not fight then it's a good sign.

They shound't really fight. But let them get used to each others company for an hour or so whilst you watch and see the progress. If there is no improvement take either one out.

uhhhm,a clown loach in a 4 gallon aaay? You know they get 12"'s right? The minimum tank size for a clown is 75 gallons and they do best in schools -_-

My oldest male lived in a community with clowns for around 6 months, he hated them. I had to move him into his own 10 gallon because the clowns continuously poked holes in his fins with their spines (located under their eyes) and they refused to accept the bettas authority

I've realised that Clons get to 12' but only after I bought him :( I was intending to get a few But it looks as though I'll have to get a new tank for them (Any excuse) Someone said that they grew very slowly and this will suit me as he is only 1 inch long at the moment. Btw The Betta has given up chasing him and the Clown is getting on fine :D I was under the impression that they only grew to 2 inches :fun: don't know where that came from but still I think I'll buy him a nice Rio 180 when he gets too big :D
