Hi everyone,

How long does it take a clown loach to get to its full size roughly

Thanks

Ross :good: :good:

i have 4. 2 large and 2 that i got as very little babies about 4 months ago, one of them is very slow growing, but i know it takes a few years to reach full adult size

why?? have you got some or getting some?

I have kept some of my clowns for 6+ years and they were close to 4 years old when I got them. Mine are not even close to full grown. Loaches.com lists the max size as 16 inches but I didn't see a time table for reaching that size.

I was thinking of getting some i think there great but i have a 90 l tank atm but plan to get a 300+ one in a year or so and wonderered if they would grow too fast for the 90l but it seems they will be ok wich is a bit of a result.

Thanks for the advice once again its much apricated :good: :good:

I've had my clown for over a year now, I bought him at like 1" and hes only 4" now so... they grow pretty slowly.

I'm sure it is
fast growing to around 4 inch (less than a year)
then approx 1 inch per year, so that would make a 6 inch clown about 3 years old,
using that scale a 12 inch clown should be 9 years old.

they are reputed to live 40+ years
