I noticed one of my two clown loaches tonight frantically swimming back and forth, and then laying on the bottom, and then swimming quickly to the top of the tank, making a big splash, and repeating. They have both been fairly calm before this...is this normal behavior? Please see video below:
Clown Loach Video

Does there appear to be anything else wrong with them? (Can't look at the video, sorry)

How large is the tank and how many clown loaches do you have? Clown loaches normally will lay on their sides, it is how they rest I suppose. He looks like he is just getting a fresh breath of air.

Sorry, the vid won't play!

As long as they are heathy in everyother way then this could be 'normal' behaviour for Botias!

You could go mad trying to analise the behaviour of Botias! :D

Yes, they seem healthy in every other way. I'll try to fix the video tonight so you can see it, I'm not sure why it wouldn't work.

saw the video, he looks ok to me - typical behavior of a lot of different types of fish...i dont' know if he has fixed the video already, or why i could see it and you all couldnt...but if you right click and "save as..." you shouldn't have a problem

Excellent, thanks for the input Abstract! I haven't had a chance to fix the video yet, but that sounds like a good way to view it.

I also forgot to reply to Raechal...I have two of them and a 46 US gallon tank.

Your CL looks to be behaving in typical CL style. :D. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

P.S: The video seems to work fine but is just very slow to load.

Well I didn't look at the video because my computer no longer has DSL so I would be sitting here for like 5 hours waiting for the movie to load, wasn't in the mood. :p

You didn't miss much, it took about 3 mins on a 1mb broadband connection to watch about 4 seconds of video.

Wow, I'm glad I didn't sit there for hours for that. Not like I've never seen a clown loach swimming up and down a tank before

Well Ferris, you may want to check with your provider to find out what the connection speed is. The file was only 1.6MB...sounds like you are spending a lot for a "fast" broadband connection that isn't so fast.
