Common name: Clown knife fish, featherback, featherfin

Origin: South east asia
Maximum size: 40" reported but 24" is more common.
Care: Clown knives will require a tank of 6'x3'x2' when fully grown. They are not fussy about water chemistry but prefer soft water with a slightly acid ph but should fine as long as extreems are avoided, a temperature of 26C will be fine. Once they hit a foot in length, they get a lot more agressive and need to be kept with larger fish such as armoured cats, pims, arowanas etc.
Feeding: They are best raised of frozen foods such as bloodworm, chunks of white bait/ lance fish. once they get to around 1', whole lance fish and large earthworms with pieces of trout are good.
Breeding: Not been bred in aquaria but eggs are laid on a hard surface and are guarded by the male.
