Hi all,

I can not keep my tank from clouding.
Tank has been set up for over a year. No problems at all.
This is a problem that started about 5 weeks ago.
No new ornaments, rocks, ornaments or fish.

Specs:

20 gal tank
filter system
air system
11 guppy babies ( will be going to new homes soon )
10 guppies
2 black neons
1 female beta
2 sucker fish

Everything has been the same except for the babies and this started before they were born.
All fish are small.
Water has been tested numerous times by myself and several LFS.
All levels ok.

I have done 1 complete breakdown, several partial water changes and last Tuesday a 75 % water change vacumming the rocks thoroughly.
It stayed real clear until yesterday.
All I have added is Aqua safe.

I HAD been using Acurel F before last change. It cleared it up as long as I used it everyday. Makes the filter all brown and yucky tho.

Can anyone help ??

I am baffled as well as several LFS I have been to.

Thanks,
Nece

What filter do you have? Some filters dont filter out fine particles well, which is why Acurel works so well. Acurel causes the fine particles to clump together, forming bigger particles teh filter can filter out.

It is an Aqua Tech that came with the tank.

I should have also said I am from Alabama :D

Thanks,

Nece

Hm. I dont have any experience with aquatech filters. Does it have a regular filter pad? If it does, you could try wrapping the pad in pantyhose. That helps filter the tiny particles most filters miss.

It has a regular blue filter pad. I will try the pantyhose :)

It is a cloudy white.

Thanks all,

Nece

Thank you for the site.

I guess I will keep using the pantyhose, adjust the PH if needed and go back to using the Acurel.
