Hi

I changed my gravel earlier which i rinsed out several times but it's still cloudy even after a few hours, When will it clear? Is there anything i can do to clear myself?

Patience Grass Hopper, it will clear in time. When I changed to sand it was days before my filter caught up

My sand didnt clear for a week! So i scooped it all back out into 3 buckets, but the hose pipe in and left it till the water ran clear.

It could also be a bacteria bloom. I had that happen to my tank after it cycled and I put fish in it. I decided to rearrange some plants and such. The water looked like milk was poured in it for about a week. All the fish made it ok through the experience. In fact it was so cloudy I had to wait for it to clear up to see if I still had all my fish.

dodgey stones if there color the paint could be comin of or maybe u didnt clean them enough times

i rinced mine allot and it still went cloudy clever thing was seing as i hadnt done anything apart from add the substrate i just took all the water out and filled it back up again hey presto. tho yea you will get bacterial bloom that looks milkey wite rather than cloudy and then comes the alge but that all takes a while. i would go for less fish in my cycle but i was left with not choise on this last occasion. a turf war errupted in my 4ft by1ft tank and i havd to moove the monkey tribe

i would take the gravel out immediatley a month ago in my coldwater tank i bought some gravel washed for a hour or 2 put it in the tank next morning the water was cloudy and all fish were dead :-(
