Cloudy Water

Hi, I am a beginner to keeping tropical fish, we did stick to all the instructions but we had cloudy water when we first set up the tank but it did clear. We now have added 6 small community fish to start us off and since introducing them 4 days ago, they seem happy but the water obviously is discoloured with food and pooh. Please advise how dowe keep it clear?

please search for "cloudy tank" in the forum search bar ( not figured out links yet)

or look at previous posts at bottom of teh web page

im assuming you have some kind of filtration

Hi thanks for your reply, yes we have a filter and checked we had everything correctly. I just keep reading about part water changes and wanted to know how often is this necessary and how often does the gravel need changing, sorry usual boring beginners questions. I can easily get library books but answers from experienced aquarists is best!
