Cloudy water

I have my tank since Christmas. I have a filter and an airator. The water which I added to last week with the proper Aqua Safe drops is now cloudy. I have a 10 gallon tank with a charcoal filter which I changed recently. Why is the water clouding up so fast.???Any help is appreciated. IT got cloudy in one week. Does anyone know why....what should I buy or look for? Want the fish to be safe and not die. Thanks.

maybe something is fouling up your water

Suck up maybe about 1 gallon of water near the top so you don't get any nasty stuff, then wash the filter media in the water, scrape whatever greenish collection you have on it until it returns to the original color.

Disassemble your filter system and wash everything good with tap water (or if you got the time, suck up another 1 gallon tank water) and wash the filter assembly in it

Look around the tank for something dead, or fouled/rotten food and clean it up.

A daily 10~20% water change for a week might help too
