Hey,
I'm noticing in my 55 gallon aquarium that it has become really cloudy.. all whitish. I had this one with my little 3 1/2 g but the live plants cleared it up. Now I already have lots of live plants in this tank. Is there any treatment that I can put in my tank? I've been having pH and ammonia problems in this tank for a while. Finally I have the ammonia problem under control and I'm still trying to get the pH to 7.0 . I've had this for over a month now.
What do I DO?

When you say you are "trying to get the pH down to 7", what exactly do you mean by that? Are you using any pH modifying products?

I wouldn't be the first to give an answer to the problem of phosphates, but I had cloudy white water a while back and bought B Clear. It cleared it up in a day. Might help you too.

I've had white cloudy water before. It was a bacteria bloom. You have to do 10% water changes every day. And sometimes a 25%. It will go away in a week. Cut back on teh feeding of your fish. You can put Stress Zyme in it. But it doesn't really take affect untill 3 weeks. No chemicals work really for cloudiness. You just have to be patient and do teh water changes. Good Luck!

Why are you trying to raise your pH? Those pH products are very tricky and I've never heard a good word said about them - they can cause wild pH swings, they do fill your tank with phosphates and in hard water they crystallise out, causing the white precipitate you've observed. All this, and frequently they can't actually change the pH because the KH is too high.

Please tell me the sort of fish you have and then maybe we can suggest better (and cheaper) ways of getting your pH more suitable. I have to say that pH 7 sounds great for the majority of fish, but I've a tank lower than that and a tank much higher than that without problems.
