Hello.

Yesterday I did a 10% water change on my ten gallon aquarium. Dechlorinated the new water, rinsed the filter (in old tank water, of course!), etc. Today the water looks cloudy. I just ran tests and results were WNL (within normal limits). Ammonia and nitrIte were at 0, nitrAte was at 5.0ppm. The fish all look fine and are acting fine.

Any ideas/thoughts as to what the haze is from? The tank has been up and running for...over two months. No new fish have been added in the last few days (the new Panda Cory came on Sunday).

Thanks.

Considering the age of the tank, I wonder if it's a bacterial bloom. If this is the case, it will go away on it's own. I get bacterial bloom when I clean a newish tank a bit too well. I finally learned to only vacuum 1/2 the tank with water changes, and the tanks settle within an hour. :D Hope it clears soon for you and your fishes :D

I have had a cloudiness like myself. If the cloudy water goes away in a day or less its probably a bacterial bloom. If it stays longer than that it can be free floating algae. I had a problem with algae that I am still fighting. I never had algae until I tried feeding some algae pellets to my fish (which they completely ignored) and then all of a sudden BAM algae everywhere.
