My new tank i am cycling has been going now for ab out 1 and 1/2 weeks. My tiger barbs look great and water chemistry is awsome. It is however kinda cloudy. I do regular water changes as well as clean the gravel. My filter is pretty new, as the tank is only as old as the time it has been up. It isnt severe, but it also isnt as pretty and appealing as i would like.

Any possible solutions?

is this a regular occurance with new cycling tanks?

Will it disappear over time?

Thanks and any other comments on this are welcome!!!!

This site is awsome!!!!!! :D

Your tank is going through a cycle so expect a little bit of cloudy water...now you said your water chemistry is awesome....your going to have to keep an eye on that...as your tank goes through a cycle..you are going to see a rise in your nitrite readings....this is when you are going to have to do small water changes to keep your fish healthy...you have Tiger barbs right?...they are sensitive to nitrite. If you did a fishless cycle you would add amonia to make the nitrite levels soar and then they would fall as nitrates are created. But since you have fish i'd recommend doing water changes and check your levels....do a gravel cleaning once a week and you should be ok! Keep testing for ammonia/nitirte/nitrate. I use a tetra water test kit...there a little expensive but they are accurate and easy to use. HIH
