Im about 70% through my "fish in" cycle. I have 4 danios in there that seem healthy and happy. I just did a 75% water change today because the tank was getting pretty cloudy, also I used a gravel vac on the substrate to get out any hidden debris. The tank got less cloudy after the WC but seems to be getting decently cloudy again (already). Its been hours since I changed the water and I have an airstone plus two HOB filters so circulation isnt the problem. Any ideas as to why its clouding up? Water parameters are on the nitrIte stage, was at .25 before the water change. Other than that there's no ammonia and only 5.0 nitrAte. I feed the danios every other day.

Its a bacterial bloom, feeding on the nitrites. Give it a few days it will clear on its own. Keep up on the water changes though.

Thanks thats what i thought it might be. Also my tank had nitrIte levels the other day but they seem to be dissipating, my readings today (after that huge water change yesterday) were 0 ammonia, 0 nitrITe, 5.0 Nitrate. Any estimate as to when I should be able to add more fish? Although my readings seem good, the nitrIte was at .25 before the water change, so I don't want to jump the gun and get more fish if the tank is still cycling.

When you get 3-5 days of consecutive zeros on the ammonia and nitrite, you're good to go.
