I wanted to know what people think about closed loop manifolds. I have an established 55 gal reef tank with 2 powerheads and read about manifolds doing a better job and looking nicer then unsightly powerheads inside Has anyone made one for a all glass tank? No drilling and curious how to get around the overhang from the wet/dry filter and also overhang protein skimmer? Thanks

HI There

I have just finished designing mine and ordering the parts

I will be using Ocean Runner Pumps and 20mm Solvent Weld Pipe, 90°, 45° & Valves

The reason I am doing this is simple: - Just upgrading and hate powrheads in the tank, so looked in to using either Stream or a CLS and fancied doing the CLS oh and offcourse if I do decide to add anem it is less likely to get churned in a CLS

To do this in an Undrilled tank you would just simply run the piping up and over the top of the tank and down, depending on the distance you want the water to travel you may get a loss of pressure, as for getting around the overhangs, you would simple pipe around them

I'll pm you the place I bought my Pipe work from

:) :) :) :)

Yes it does have to be a closed loop, otherwise you will not get even distribution of pressure within the loop which will make some jets weaker than others.
