Fish Herder
Being a Loach Lover I am always trying new foods to keep my fish happy but one constant favourite is muscles.
I usually take one out of the container from the freezer and defrost it in Tank water for about an hour then just pop it in the tank and watch it disappear in minutes the only thing left is the actual muscle off the muscle which they cannot consume as its to tough for them to break up and eat so I just remove it.
I usually Feed them a muscle once a week and have been doing this for over a year BUT!
I was horrified to catch Trigger one of my Yoyo's with the muscle band hanging out his mouth and the other end hanging out his left gill!
You can imagine I was seriously concerned and worried fortunately 20 minutes later he had passed it some how. today he has been fine swimming and eating but wow what a close call so from now I will be preparing the muscle by removing the muscle band.
Just thought I would share as I have never read of this happening before.
