Or is it a DIY job? I've seen alot of clearseal tanks with lids, just don't know where the lids came from.

thanks

Errm, In my local shops I find lots of clearseal lids (P@H) etc but they are just the lids, I think it will have to be a DIY jobs. You could go with the Interpet starter units and fit them in accordingly :good:

Cant find lids? Try 'Clearseal Hood' on google and/or ebay, worked when I looked :good:

I got some when I bought a couple of tanks.... but they are RUBBISH !!! vaccuum formed plastic - straight in the bin !!!!
Far better to build your own if you can, better made - do what YOU want it to... and no doubt cheaper than the tat in most shops...

lol,
im 17 and no doubt you can guess im crap at making stuff

but i might give it a try, if i get the tank.

anyone know what sort of bulb, and how i can wire it all up??

siamese fighters :)

i was thinking of getting the 4ft x 12" x 12" clearseal.. and dividing it up for 4 males.

Clearseal do a couple of different hoods:

They're pretty pricey, and fairly flimsy considering, but they do look OK.

You'll need a seperate lighting starter unit and tube, something like:

And maybe some clips etc to attach it all to the hood.

With the clearseal hoods, fitting is pretty straightforward, the worst you should have to do is drill a couple of holes.

All in, you'll be looking at about £70 or so for the hood and lights. There are cheaper ways of doing it if you go DIY, but make sure everything you do is safe for aquarium use, especially when it comes to electrical safety!

And I agree with Rooster about the vac formed lids, they are useless. Good for stopping your fish from jumping out, but not much else.

meh i think i might aswell just get a second hand tank off ebay or something, they are alot cheaper than new ones.
