Hi ive just got myself a 2nd hand tank but the inside of the glass needs a clean ive tryed soapy water but it wont clean it its like when water has been left on a glass or a bathroom mirror kind of stain not sure if it maybe limescale

Definitely sounds like calcium build up, however since I live in an area with really soft water I have never ever suffered anything along those lines.

I'm sure someone will swoop in soon and tell you the best method but make sure you don't use anything that is going to be leaving residuals and give it a thoroughly good wash with clean water afterwards.

try using vinegar. but be sure to really wash the vinegar off before filling it with water.

just make sure you rinse everything. soap and vinegar can kill fish. i know from expierience

im with the above. Either buy a special razor scaper, or just buy some stanley knife blades and scrape away! (without sounding like my mother, be careful if your just using a blade - those things are beyond sharp!)

I had the same problem, got my tank second hand and it had all the white residue on it.. I put it in the bath and filled it to clean it and check for leaks. i used a sponge with a non scratch scouring pad on it and for the hardened stuff i used a paint scraper but was very careful not to scratch the glass... you should NEVER use soap to clean a tank or ornaments as the soap leaves a residue and even though it feels like you have got it all off there could still be enough left on there that could harm your fish...remember when you do start up to learn about cycling your tank. (I jumped head first and learned the hard way)

Ive tryed all of the above but just dont want to seam to budge

i would be tempted to ignore the 'never use deturgents' advice (it is good advice...) and nuke it with some limescale remover. But make sure you clean it like you've never cleaned before with water once your done.

Just might have to try that i have some stuff that i use in the kettle

yeah thats the stuff. But i doubt its good for humans in small quantities, let alone fish...
